Dirty Harry - Gorillaz (from the album Demon Days)
Dirty Harry is a song that features a clavinet riff that’s just about the funkiest thing ever, a children’s choir singing about needing weapons, some 80’s-sounding synthesizers, an angry rap about soldiers, a string section break, and Damon Albarn on top of all of it, singing in his absolute highest falsetto. And yet never does the song seem strange, and never does it seem like any one part doesn’t fully deserve to be there. It just sounds like a fun, entirely danceable song, albeit one with a serious message attached to it. Seamless-sounding fusion like this are a big reason why Gorillaz are one of my favorite bands ever.
