El Scorcho - Weezer (from the album Pinkerton)
I don’t know why I love this song as much as I do. Maybe it’s because of the almost depressingly honest lyrics about unrequited love and being downright terrified of girls. Maybe it’s the really funny way that love is presented, with references to Public Enemy and Green Day. Maybe it’s the guitar riff that’s catchy in an odd, self-referential way, like the ironic mustache of guitar riffs. Or maybe it’s just the fact that it’s incredibly fun to belt out “I’M A LOOOOOOOOT LIKE YOOOOOOU SO PLEEEEEASE HELLOOOOOO I’M HEEEEERE I’M WAIIIIIIITIIIING”. For whatever reason, this is one of my favorite songs.
