It took a while to decide which Beck song I wanted to feature on this blog first. The problem with Beck isn’t that I like too many of his songs, although that is true. Instead, it’s that Beck has entirely changed musical styles enough times that it’s hard to pick a song that’s the epitome of Beck. Every album he’s done sounds entirely different from the last one, and yet they’re all recognizably Beck and all musically brilliant. This song serves a good enough introduction to his stuff, but I would definitely recommend checking out as much of it as you can. If Beck is anything, he’s full of surprises. And if he’s anything else, he’s great.
